A freelance filmmaker has alleged that his professional tripod, valued at around ₹55,000, was damaged while travelling on an Air India Express flight. According to the filmmaker, the equipment had been checked in after he informed the airline’s ground staff that it was a fragile item and required careful handling.

After collecting his baggage at the destination, he reportedly discovered that the tripod had suffered significant damage. The filmmaker stated that the tripod was rented for professional work, leaving him to bear a substantial financial loss.

The passenger further claimed that Air India Express offered ₹5,000 as compensation, which he said was far below the value of the damaged equipment. He later shared a video of the incident on social media, where it gained widespread attention and sparked discussions about airline baggage handling and compensation policies.

As of now, there has been no public confirmation that the airline has agreed to increase the compensation amount.
